"Beyond a change of scenery, I wanted to have a real-world context in order to put college in perspective. I knew that I would not be satisfied if I didn't feel like I was interacting with real people and giving back to the community from which I was absorbing so much. By placing myself in different surroundings and exposing myself to new situations, I learned about myself in many ways."

Located on the River Clyde near the west coast of Scotland, Glasgow is Scotland's largest city and one of Europe's great cultural centers. Historically, it has produced some of the world's most influential thinkers and inventors, and was a major hub of the Industrial Revolution and shipbuilding industries. In recent years, Glasgow has been reborn as a center of modern, urban living, set against a backdrop of outstanding Victorian architecture. With a strong local identity and a vibrant cultural scene, it boasts world-famous art collections; dozens of cultural institutions and historic sites; wonderful restaurants, pubs, and nightlife; and is home to students from all over the UK and the world. Glasgow is only 42 miles from Edinburgh and is the gateway to some of Scotland's most beautiful scenery, including the Western Isles and the Highlands.
You will live as British students do, in University group-residence units. You may take meals at the University cafeterias or in the community, or prepare them in the residences. (Note: Room and board expenses are not included in the program fee.)
